The Center for Hispanic Studies offers a wide selection of Spanish courses in all levels and for different types of students. Our pedagogical team can create special courses for groups or individuals that wish a different program.
Among the courses we offer, we would like to highlight the following:
- Long term courses
- Summer courses
- D.E.L.E. examination preparation courses
- One to one courses
Long term courses
The recommended duration of our long term courses is four months, but a student can opt to register for shorter stays. The courses begin in September and February. They are highly participative and have three main sections: structures, conversation and cultural workshops. In the structures classes, students learn the main elements of the language and practice them with different kinds of exercises. In the conversation class, students develop their oral comprehension and expression. Finally, in the cultural workshops, the studenty learn and discuss about different aspects of Spanish culture. These courses meet Monday to Friday, with three sessions of 50 minutes each.
Summer courses
Our summer courses are basically designed for young students who wish to learn Spanish during their holidays. For this purpose, the students will work on both the language and the cultural aspectes, at the same time that they improve their ability to express themselves in the conversation activities.
As an ideal supplement to the academic training, there is an ample and diverse program of extra curricular activities, such as excursions, field visits, sports, lectures, films, etc., that enable the students to fully enjoy and integrate into the social life of Valladolid during this time of the year. Courses are offered in July, August and September, in different levels, Monday to Friday with four classes of 50 minutes each.
D.E.L.E. examination preparation courses
The Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Langiage are the official accreditation of competence levels in Spanish issued by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of the Ministry of Education. There are three levels (initial, intermediate and higher) and the Cervantes Institute usually offers two examination dates, in May and November and an additional examination date in August. Our course is especially designed for the preparation of this exam. There are 20 lessons per week for three weeks before the test date, Monday to Friday, from 09:30 to 13:30.
One-to-one courses
Our individual courses are deigned for students who need personalized, intensive and specialized instruction. The curriculum, format and schedule are adapted to the needs of the student.
