The Center for Hispanic Studies (CEHCYL) is an academic institution led by a team of professionals with ample experience in the teaching of languages, intercultural education and teacher training. It is a member of the Association of Spanish Language Centers of Valladolid.
Its Board of Directors includes university professors, professionals of different fields and civil servants. Its main objectives are:
- To offer tailor made programs in Spanish language and culture for its students.
- To help its students to get acquainted with the cultural, social and business setting of Valladolid and Castilla y León.
- To offer training opportunities for teachers of Spanish to improve their work by means of courses, seminars and lectures led by invited experts.
- To apply new technologies to the language teaching process, fostering on line teaching and learning.
- To maintain the highest level of quality in the teaching of languages and training of teachers, endeavoring to attain excellence and providing personal attention and care in all our activities, so that they become landmarks in this field.
Our central office is on the square of San Pablo, one of the most emblematic locations of the historical center of the city. The king Philip the second was born here and the former Royal Palace and the National Museum of Sculpture face the square, only a few minutes away from the Plaza Mayor and most of the main tourist attractions of Valladolid.
We have, in a single building, classrooms, study, reading and social rooms, offices, accommodation for our students, dining hall and recreation areas.
Our superb location enables our students to be near all of the cultural and social life of the city.
All our activities are supervised by a staff member of CEHCYL who escorts the students at all times, to ensure that the program is being accomplished as planned and to solve any problem that could come up.
